First came emotions, then came words, images, and now sound…

I wrote the poems over the years, when I visited God’s garden; when emotions moved in me from empty blank pages unto the threshold of words. I then took photos of nature in zoom, seeking to find the hidden beauty that we usually overlook. The poems and photos were made into my book ‘In God’s Garden’. And now, with the use of AI, they have taken on a musical form.

My poems are the culmination of a long emotional process. Yet, they are usually very short. Sometimes they come as a burst of one-line wisdom. Nothing else to say. Just to speak the insight, directly.  In the album, the short lyrics (poems) are sung over and over, like a mantra.

This project continues my research into human creativity enhanced by AI.  My vision, creativity, direction (and some compositions), with performance and arrangement realised by AI.

I have instructed AI with the lyrics, style, rhythm, instrumentation, vocals, structure, etc. I also incorporated melodies that I had composed myself. There was also a lot of post-production editing (using Audacity), and mixing (mash-ups) of a few songs, until I was happy with the final results.  Unlike my previous album projects, I could now do a lot of post-production work, since I have upgraded to a different AI music generation app.

The title, Grammar and Courage, represents the power of syntax. Grammar structures language and enables meaning to emerge, just as courage structures action that can bring self-realisation.
